Most commercial vehicles are not allowed to drive between 10 o’clock at night and 5 o’clock in the morning because of the ban on driving at night. Nevertheless, our customers expect to receive their goods on the day after the order is made. TELE TOP obtained information from us regarding the rail/road dual system.
Mikko Stamm, journalist from TELE TOP, meets Fredy Würzer – CAMION TRANSPORT Head of Projects/Sales at the Cargo Logistics Centre in Schwarzenbach – at 2.30 in the morning. During the reportage he explains how the shipments come from the other new railway-supported subsidiaries to Schwarzenbach, and which tasks are necessary on a daily basis to supply customers in a timely manner.
Although the goods are handled more than with direct transport, the advantages of a dual transport system outweigh the disadvantages. Not only is the night utilised for the transport of shipments despite the ban on driving, but the environmental impact is also reduced.
