We look back on the successful development of «crane logistics», which includes 25 special vehicles today, 21 of them powerful cranes. This means we cover the entire logistics chain: goods receipts after import, storage using a warehouse management system, picking and transport.
CAMION TRANSPORT operated a logistics centre for EgoKiefer windows in Winznau and Thal from 1 January 2015. Plastic windows were delivered there from Slovakia and the wood/aluminium windows came from Altstätten (EgoKiefer’s wood competence centre). While the shuttle services between Villeneuve – Winznau – Thal and Altstätten were provided by Mega Liners, the crane vehicles supplied customers and construction sites throughout Switzerland on a daily basis. Everything else is history, with crane logistics successfully positioned on the market today we look to the future with a lot of energy and drive. The new generation of vehicles has also been in use since the end of last year.
Safety
As part of the professional driver training programme, we focus annually on load securing, general crane safety and topics that affect our customers. Although it is not a legal requirement, all drivers took the Category A crane test two years ago. This also counts as a professional driver training day. In the future, new crane drivers will also complete the crane training. This once again accentuates how seriously CAMION TRANSPORT takes the safety of its employees.
«We are on the road with our special crane vehicles throughout Switzerland every day, thanks to our dual transport system and trailer vehicles, we are very flexible – which makes us unique,» says Marco Meier, branch manager of CAMION TRANSPORT Winznau with overall responsibility for crane logistics.
