A roadmap to zero-emissions transport

With the Mercedes-Benz eActros 300, another important «piece of the puzzle» for our zero-emissions innovation fleet is going into operation. We are gaining more and more experience of environmentally friendly vehicle models and their areas of application and we’re taking the next step towards our ambitious environmental goals.

Exactly two years after the conclusion of the one-year eActros test phase – we were a pilot customer – we’re putting one of the first series-production eActros into service across Switzerland. This involves the all-electric 19-tonne, 4×2 eActros 300 with three battery packs. «Initial test drives have already won us over and, if the promised range proves itself in practice, the eActros will take an important place in our zero-emissions dispersion vehicle fleet», says Josef Jäger, Director of CAMION TRANSPORT Ltd.

The eActros 300 was officially handed over to Josef Jäger, Director of CAMION TRANSPORT Ltd and Michael Eugster, Branch Manager of CAMION TRANSPORT Ltd Schwarzenbach by Jürg Lüthi, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Schweiz AG, Jürg Brunner, Head of Sales at Mercedes-Benz Trucks Schweiz AG and Marc Achermann, eTruck Consultant at Mercedes-Benz Trucks Schweiz AG in Schwarzenbach on 15 June 2022. This electric truck is now in use from this location for distribution in and around the city of St.Gallen.

The procurement plan and sustainability strategy is carrying on seamlessly: four additional all-electric eActros are in the pipeline for delivery to CAMION TRANSPORT and intended for use in various branches with a wide range of applications. In addition to general cargo in city logistics, there is also potential in shuttle transport.

Hello future, we have been living sustainably – not just since today or yesterday, but for decades.
