This award underscores CAMION TRANSPORT’s practice of sustainable business management, an approach which it adopted some time ago. We already laid the foundations back in 1985 with the putting into operation of the package freight shuttle service on the track between Wil and Geneva. Now, 130 rail wagons are on the move for us every night.

With our sustainability programme «Eco Balance by CAMION TRANSPORT» we are intensifying protection of the environment, efficiency and social commitment across a broad spectrum. This includes:

A dual transport system
We haul 2/3 of our consignments by rail.

Training / further training of our heroes of the road
With ECO-Drive we regularly train our driving personnel to drive in an environmentally friendly way.

Latest vehicle technology
In an overall strategy we deploy various commercial vehicles with alternative drive systems in our day-to-day business, including electrical, hydrogen and hybrid vehicles, as well as the muscle-powered Cargo e-bikes. More about our innovation fleet.

We are ready with the right vehicles, experienced employees and our own hazardous materials warehouses.

City logistics

Daily business in logistics is supported by a sophisticated warehouse management system and of course the separation of waste.

Infrastructures
We check our existing buildings and facilities on an ongoing basis and modernise them with state-of-the-art technology; new construction is carried out taking into account aspects of minimised energy consumption.

On the road without paper
For more than two years, our chauffeurs have been paperless. Goodbye reams of paper, much to the benefit of our environment.

Because we are not resting on our laurels and also have ambitious goals for the future. At the start of 2023 we want to lay the decision-making basis for the green procurement plan. Then it will be possible to carry out deeper analyses of our innovative fleet, providing a basis to guide decision-making.

• It is planned to extend this to the urban regions from 2030.
• In 2035 we want to realise climate-neutral real estate and business premises.
