«Friendly Work Space» – health at the centre

Healthy and satisfied employees. This is much more than just a major concern of Camion Transport Ltd, it is a central issue. As the first transport and logistics company in Switzerland, the family-owned company carries the «Friendly Work Space» label since 2015. After the first recertification in 2018, the second successful reassessment recently took place, followed by the ceremonial awarding of the label in Bern on 26 October 2021.

Prevention is better than cure. Camion Transport Ltd recognised this long before the initial assessment for the Health Promotion Switzerland quality seal. So the company was already a «Friendly Work Space» before the label even existed. «The certification was a logical step for us.», explains Monika Friedl, Responsible Workplace Health Management (WHM) at Camion Transport Ltd.

Now the logistics specialist can carry the label for three more years until the next assessment. However, standing still is a foreign word. After all, workplace health management is based on a strategy. This needs to be developed further. Monika Friedl is pleased: «With a newly created internship position, health promotion projects will also get a boost.» The expansion of the team proves how important it is to Camion Transport Ltd to invest in health-preserving and secure jobs. Which is also a commitment in the company’s mission statement.

The «Friendly Work Space» label has existed for twelve years, is very well established in some sectors and is known as a seal of quality. Not that much in the transport and logistics sector, as Monika Friedl confirms: «For frontliners, like the driving staff, it’s still a neglected issue. Health Promotion Switzerland should invest more in educational work specifically for these employees.» Brownie point to Camion Transport Ltd. With the label, the company is positioning itself as a responsible company. Health is a precious gift and cannot be taken for granted.
