The first models of the DAF CF Electric were already tested in 2018 by Dutch and German customers. In 2019, the second generation went on sale, equipped with new software and a new dashboard. Then in 2020 the manufacturer took the next step in the development of electric drivelines by doubling range to more than 200 kilometres using VDL e-power technology. In addition to this, the introduction of a new generation of batteries provided a weight reduction of 700 kg, leading directly to a higher payload. (Source: DAF Trucks N.V.)

That’s what testing our zero-emission innovation fleet is all about. As part of an overall strategy, we use various commercial vehicles with alternative drive systems in our day-to-day business. Our goal: The decision-making basis for the «green procurement plan» should be in place by the end of 2022.

The DAF CF Electric is ready, and our livery partner has also completed work. We are first going to test the vehicle in shuttle operation in East Switzerland. Then it is going to be delivered to our branch in Vufflens-la-Ville. We are eagerly awaiting practical experience from day-to-day business.
