Three celebrations – 40 years in Rümlang, 20 years in Bülach, 20 years in Burgdorf

1984: The branch in Rümlang was put into operation. 20 years later, the Bülach logistics centre opened its gates and the branch in Burgdorf celebrated its launch. Pioneering inaugurations which made positive contributions to the company success.

A look at Rümlang (CTR)
CTR, our third branch, opened its doors on 1 May 1984 with six employees and started cargo distribution in the city of Zurich and its surroundings. Two years, later, activities were expanded to include the Central Plateau. 1988 saw the start of the night express service from Rümlang as well as supply to the whole of German-speaking Switzerland and Ticino. 1994: The «ColisExpress» package hub was born. Over the years to follow, there were several company takeovers as well as the integration of the night express service into Quali-Night AG. In 2002, two years after expansion to the «dual transport system», CTR also started with combined transport over rail and road. The next step was in 2011, after 27 years in the business: CTR commissioned a new, modern building for its operations. The construction took three years, and in 2014: The new cargo logistics centre in Rümlang was complete! The number of employees has now risen to 120. Rümlang can therefore be proud for two reasons: 40 years of CTR and 10 years at the new building on Wibachstrasse.

A look at Bülach (LCB)
The new tyres logistics centre (LCP) was opened in 2004 in Bülach. Just one year later, the kitchen logistics centre (LCK) was opened in the opposite building. In addition to tyres, the team in Bülach then also stored kitchens – two things which could not be more different! In spite of this, it made sense to merge the two centres, which is why the company management committed to a standardised Bülach logistics centre in 2014. In April 2023, LCB started to offer its customers a new specialism: In wheel assembly, LCB assembled complete wheels from different parts based on specifications. Our logistics centre in Bülach continues to develop all the time.

A look at Burgdorf
The Burgdorf history has atypical beginnings. The foundation stone was laid when the cargo segment of H.+F. Langenegger AG in Köniz was taken over in 2002. Just one year later, construction started for the future site in Burgdorf. In 2003, the company moved from Köniz into the new cargo logistics centre. One year later, CTM and its railway connection, were successfully launched. Five years later, Burgdorf incorporated a suspended ceiling into the handling space. The commissioning and completion of the expansion construction were celebrated. The expansion in 2009 was not the last. A new expansion construction was realised between 2022 and 2024. Its inauguration for customers, partners and staff is planned for November 2024.
